Beverly Jo Smith

Beverly Jo Smith, 62, of Berrien Springs, died January 1, 2022, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, where friends may visit beginning at 3 p.m. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.

Bev was born Jan. 7, 1959, in Niles, the daughter of Joel and Daisy (Cochran) King. She was a secretary at Mars Elementary School in Berrien Springs and later was a secretary for the Michigan Education Association, from which she retired. Her leisure enjoyments were gardening and spending time with family and friends at her lakefront home.

She is survived by her parents, Joel and Daisy King; her significant other, Mark Smith; sons, Kelcy (Shannon) Smith and Joshua Smith, all of Berrien Springs; daughter, Karissa Smith (Randy Schlipp) of Dowagiac; four grandchildren: Kylee, Jaelyn, Kamren, Blakley; sister, Debra Fecho of Berrien Springs; and nieces and nephews.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Smith.
