Dennis Allen Dobbins

October 14, 1947 — February 14, 2023

Dennis "Denny” Allen Dobbins, 75, of Riverside, Michigan, formerly of Berrien Springs, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, following a brief battle with cancer.

Denny was born October 14, 1947, in Niles, Michigan, to the late Darvin and Miriam (Harley) Dobbins. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1966, and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War.

After proudly serving his country, he worked as a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and IBEW until retiring in 2011.

Denny enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and at the spur of the moment, it was not uncommon for him to hop on his Harley and end up in Alaska, which happened on a couple of occasions. He eventually traded his two wheels for four and spent much of his retirement attending classic car shows, bringing home many trophies with his 1950 Ford, along with his pals Jim Mock, Barry, and Jimmy Z.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Ross (Patrick Grayam); sister, Julie Weger of California; brother, Mike (Tess) Dobbins of Alabama; sisters, Diane (Gary) Nelson of Florida and Lynn (Craig) Keller of Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews: Tonya Weger, Jessie Mulville, Joe Dobbins, Chad Keller, Camden Keller, and Megan Yount; and dear friends Jim Mock, John Mock, and Jeanne and Matt McKelvey.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Darvin and Miriam (Harley) Dobbins; his brother, Gary (Guzzy) Dobbins; and brother-in-law, Jerry Weger.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.
