Franklin Delano Fisher

September 25, 1937 — September 4, 2016

Franklin Delano Fisher, 78, of Berrien Springs, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 4, 2016, surrounded by family and under the compassionate care of the hospice staff at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Frank was born September 25, 1937, to Charles Donald and Belle Frazee Fisher at home on the family farm in Coloma Township, Michigan.  Frank graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1956.  He went on to attend college and obtain many professional certifications, pursuing a career in mechanical engineering and construction management.  He was a world traveler, working throughout the United States, Brazil, Singapore, China, Malaysia, and Thailand (his favorite place in the world, next to his favorite fishing hole on the St. Joseph River).  At the time of his death, Frank was living in Buchanan, Michigan.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman and was once featured in an article of Field & Stream Magazine for his catch of a record-setting largemouth bass.  He loved to cook for his friends, family, and the neighborhood children (at every job site he worked at).  He taught fishing through 4-H and coached YMCA basketball, positively impacting the lives of a number of young people.  He was an inventor, artist, and story teller, with an infectious sense of humor, laughing and joking until the very end.  He touched the lives of many and will be missed.

He expressed immense pride in his three children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.  He is survived by his two daughters, Mindy (her husband Mike and children Mikala and Erik) and Wendy (her son, George Wregglesworth and his wife Courtney and her sons Mark her daughter, Charlie Keegstra and her husband Mathew and their children Hunter & Riley).  Also his son, Franklin (his wife Sharon and their children:  Alexandria Meredith (her husband Josh and their children Christine, Kaylan and Ryan), Jordan (his wife Misty and their daughter Angelina), James, Ashton, Taylor Titus (her husband Max and their son Remington), Corey, Brittany, and Jared; his sister, Betty; his brothers, Kenneth and David; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Belle; brother, George; and sisters, Margaret and Donna.

Per his request, no memorial service will be held and Frank has donated his body to the University of Michigan for medical education and research.  Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.  Condolences to www.allredfuneralhome.com.
