Gladys Pearl Stringer

Gladys Pearl “Missy” Stringer, 97, of Stevensville, Michigan, passed away October 10, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family.

Missy was born May 9, 1923 in Goshen, Indiana. She was the oldest of five children born to Perl and Gladys Covert. On January 18, 1947 she married Robert Edward Stringer in Michigan City, Indiana. He preceded her in death April 27, 2016. She was also preceded by her parents; her sisters, Virginia Covert and Joan Inglish; and brother, John Covert.

She is survived by her children: Linda Lockwitz, Robert B. Stringer, Kurtis E. Stringer and Matthew Stringer; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her sister, Doris Helm.

Missy loved her flower gardens, sewing, art projects, as well as church and community service.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Village Adventist Elementary School renovation project, the Michigan City SDA Church, or Caring Circle Hospice.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 17, at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, Berrien Springs. Arrangements were entrusted to Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs. Memories and messages for the family may be left online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
