Glenn Walter St. Clair

October 19, 1931 — October 13, 2022

Glenn Walter St. Clair, 90, died peacefully following a ruptured aortic aneurysm on October 13, 2022 in Niles Lakeland Hospital.

He was born in Rib Lake, Wisconsin on October 19, 1931 and was in the first graduating class of Wisconsin Academy. He continued his education at Emmanuel Missionary College and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Tri State in Angola, Indiana. Advanced degrees earned during his career included an MBA from Indiana University in 1967 and a PhD in Industrial Management from Pacific Coast University in 1978.

He met Geraldine Bicknell at EMC and they married on February 12, 1956.

They moved to Columbus, Indiana where Glenn worked at the worldwide headquarters of Cummins Diesel Engine Company for 28 years.

They raised five children in a loving and fun-filled country home. The kids bonded while working in the garden and playing in the pool with friends who were always welcome. It was very important to Glenn that his family love God, and church was an integral part of life. His children and many other young people benefited from the many years that Glenn and Gerre directed the local Pathfinder Club. He also held many offices in the local SDA church and taught an adult Sabbath School class.

After retiring from Cummins, he spent eight years in Sierra Leone, West Africa as administrator of Masanga Leprosy Hospital and also served as Country Director for ADRA.

He and Gerre then went to Nepal for four years where he worked as ADRA Country Director. During those years they were able to travel extensively to many countries.

They returned to the U.S. in 2001 for a true retirement when Glenn was 70 years old.

Glenn was president of GEM (Global Education and Medical), a non-profit organization for third world countries.

His hobbies included sailing his 31-foot Hunter sailboat, tinkering with and driving his 31 Model A Ford, working in his yard and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; his children: Sarai St. Clair, Carrie (David) Grellmann, Amy (Chuck) Looker, Jeffrey (Kari), Mary (Craig) Moore; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for Glenn will be held at Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University on October 29, 2022 at 3 p.m.
