Jacqualyn Marie Davidson

Jacqualyn Marie Davidson, 86, of Niles, died Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017, at Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow in Niles.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, where friends may call beginning at 1 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Messages and memories may be shared online at www.allredfuneralhome.com.

Jacqualyn was born January 22, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond and Minnie (Markes) Shay.  She married William W. Davidson on February 17, 1951, in Toledo.  She earned her teaching certificate and taught church school in Athens, Ohio, and Parkersburg, West Virginia.  In 1970 the family moved to Berrien Springs, where Jacqualyn worked as office secretary for Ruth Murdoch Elementary School on the campus of Andrews University, and later for AU Food Service.  She was a church member at Pioneer Memorial Church, later transferring to the Edwardsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her husband, William; three sons: William Jr. (Cathy) of Athens, Ohio, Mark (Karen) of Berrien Springs, John (Karen) of Commerce City, Colorado; two daughters: Shawna (Dan) Guiett of Saginaw, Michigan, and Carol (Charles) Mendoza of Silver Spring, Maryland; nine grandchildren: Tracy, John, Felicia, Zachary, Codi, John Mark, Chelsea, Emily and Gwen; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerald; and three sisters: Madeline, Arabella, and Dorothy.
