Jesse James Harner

Jesse James Harner
June 9, 1962 - November 1, 2020

The Lord called Jesse to his heavenly home November 1, 2020.

Jesse was a truck driver for most of his life. He worked for P&R service as a tow truck operator and night time manager. When that chapter of his life closed he then became a truck driver for Louis Padnos in Buchanan. He worked there for 12 years picking up scrap metal bins from various companies and doing other jobs there.

Jesse was a hard worker his whole life. He started working at a young age at Jewel in Benton Harbor and worked at Lakeshore Roller world also. He medically retired from Louis Padnos in 2012 due to health issues. He worked right up until he just couldn’t anymore! He loved working and providing for his family!

He began dialysis treatments and was a trooper through it all! After a few years he was blessed with the gift of a kidney transplant from his youngest daughter Nelie. He, as well as the rest of us, are so very thankful and grateful for that gift and the extra time it gave us with him. This December would be six years SUCCESSFUL kidney transplant. The Lord surely blessed us! There have been MANY things we have learned from him, but most importantly was to ALWAYS be thankful for our blessings.

Jesse was a family man and always put us all first. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rocking out to his favorite tunes and working out in the yard, but most of all he LOVED spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. There wasn’t anything he didn’t love doing with them! His world revolved around them and there was no doubt about it! Jesse was an AMAZING man, Father to his children and Papa to his grandchildren! He will be greatly missed every day until we meet again.

Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, June Weaver, in 2005, as well as other family members and friends. He loved and missed them all dearly and I know they’ve all been reunited.

He leaves behind his dearly beloved children: Rachael (George) Zelmer, Nichole (Christopher) White, Nelie Tollas, and Christopher Harner - all of Berrien Springs; four dearly-beloved grandchildren: Skyler, Madison, Elaina, Ella; his brother, Robert (Kelly) of Dowagiac; niece, Kelsey Weaver of Dowagiac; nephew, Robert Weaver of Dowagiac; niece, Megan Bienz of South Haven; many other cousins and friends; and his very much loved and loyal dog, Baby.

Jesse wished to be cremated. A celebration of life with his favorite foods and great tunes will be held at a later date. You can contact the family with condolences and any stories you would like to share about Jesse via Facebook, or www.allredfuneralhome.com. We would love to hear any and all stories!

Fly high Daddy, until we meet again.
