Kirk Steven Renn

April 1, 1961 — February 11, 2022

Kirk Steven Renn, 60, of Berrien Springs, closed his eyes here on Earth on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, and opened them in Heaven to see his loving Savior’s smiling face.

He was born April 1, 1961, in St. Joseph, the son of Frederick and Bette Renn. Kirk lived with his mother until her death and now is back with his “Ride or Die”, picking up right where they left off.

Kirk worked at Apple Valley Bakery in Berrien Springs for 36 years. Janet Hainey was his boss and Debbie Beerbower a co-worker. They both were instrumental in his career at Apple Valley and a part of the Renn family.

He was a longtime member of Berrien Springs United Methodist Church and never wanted to miss going. He was so loved by everyone there and always brought a smile and laugher to the hallways of the church and anywhere he went.

Kirk loved the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to work to be with his second family, riding his bike, going to movies, watching WWF, kept McDonalds in business, watching the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame Football and the 3 Stooges. His co-worker, Debbie Beerbower, he called “Bower” because he didn’t want to say beer. Even during his chemo treatments that were every month, he remained positive and had all the nurses laughing and telling him jokes. His cousin, Mary Ann, was a godsend in taking him to his treatments. Kirk was one of the most positive, good-natured people I knew. He was not just my brother, he was my friend and my Hero. He made me want to be a better person.

He is survived by his older brother, Kevin F. (Judy) Renn; sister, Kelley J. Renn; two nephews, Kevin F. (Anne) Renn and Kristopher A. Renn; and one great-nephew, Knute Landon Renn.

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Renn, in 1987; and his mother, Bette Renn, in 2015.

There will be a celebration of life get-together on Saturday, March 19, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Berrien Springs United Methodist Church. The family ask in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
