Larry Dean Ford

June 17, 1955 — January 8, 2021

Larry Ford, aka “The Bird”, passed away in his sleep in late January. He died of COPD and issues related to smoking. It was determined that he did not have COVID-19.

Larry was born June17, 1955, in Columbus, Wisconsin, the son of Dwain and Lorraine (Saline) Ford. He was a local homebuilder and specialized in the framing of large homes in Michigan and Indiana. He lived all of his life in Berrien Springs and Sodus, working as a carpenter his entire career. He enjoyed skiing, motorcycles, hang gliding and boating in his spare time.

He is survived by his father, Dwain, in St. Joseph; sister, Diane, in Berrien Springs; and his brother, David, in Washington State. He is also survived by nieces Jes and Alison and nephew Jim, children of brother David.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Allred Funeral Home is assisting the family. Due to the pandemic, no services will be held at this time. A wake will be held beside the St Joe River at a time in the future when the pandemic is behind us. You and Budweiser will be notified of the time and place.
