Nona M. Ludeman

February 9, 1929 — December 24, 2016

Nona Mae (Roosma) Ludeman, 87, a longtime resident of the Berrien Springs area, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Woodland Terrace of Longmeadow in Niles, Michigan.

She was born February 9, 1929 in Lonepine, Montana, the daughter of Sam and Grace Roosma.  She was the youngest of four children; three preceded her in death.  Nona graduated from high school at Mt. Ellis Academy in Bozeman, Montana.  She married the love of her life, Robert Ludeman on June 30, 1949, in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Anna and Delbert Clark.

Nona worked as a secretary at Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, Washington, while her husband taught Math and Science at the same facility, from 1957 till 1967.  They then moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan.  Nona first worked in the Andrews University Library, and then as an Executive Secretary to the President of the Lake Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, while Robert was a Professor at Andrews University until their retirement in 1994.

Nona loved good food and socializing with friends.  She had a ready smile and volunteered at several Seventh-day Adventist organizations in Berrien Springs such as Neighbor to Neighbor, Adventist Frontier Missions, Your Story Hour, ASAP, and Pioneer Memorial Church.  Following retirement, Nona and Robert spent their winters volunteering at the Seventh-day Adventist Pine Lake Resort near Orlando, Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Ludeman of Niles, and by three nieces and four nephews.  Her family paid this tribute to her...."Nona was one of the kindest individuals you could ever meet.  She opened her heart and home to many students, friends and family members over the years and to know her was to love her and she will be sorely missed.”

Family memorial and private inurnment will take place in Hot Springs, Montana, at a future date.

Allred Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.  Online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
