Robert "Bob" Dean Porter

Robert “Bob” Dean Porter of Berrien Springs, passed away on July 15, 2022 due to complications following a surgical procedure.

Bob was born on March 17, 1953 to Royal and Frances (Becker) Porter. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1971 and married Sandra (Salas) in 1976.They spent 46 wonderful years in Berrien Springs raising their family and spending time with lifelong friends.

He was a jack-of-all-trades and spent many years repairing cars, driving trucks, and helping everyone with anything they ever needed. If he wasn’t working and helping others, you could find him on the golf course or playing euchre. He spent many years camping at Sandy Pines with his family and friends.

The passing of Bob will leave a great hole in the community and the lives of everyone that knew him. He was generous, funny, kind, and hard-working. Bob will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sandy (Salas) Porter; his daughter, Nicole Porter; his son, Matthew (Ashley) Porter; and his precious granddaughter, Vivian Porter. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Mary) Porter, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marian (Don) Kilgore.

A celebration of life to honor Bob will take place at North Lake Wedding and Events located at 10577 Jones Road in Berrien Springs on Thursday, July 21 from 2-6 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs at a date to be determined.
