Ronald L. Rowe

December 23, 1938 — February 25, 2022

Ronald LeRoy Rowe was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on December 23, 1938. He was the third of seven children born to LeRoy Victor Rowe and Melva Arlene (Byers) Rowe. He grew up in Waynesboro and attended Mt. Etna Elementary School, Blue Mountain Academy, and Columbia Union College where he studied math and physics. He also obtained an MA in Secondary Math at Andrews University.

As he was growing up, he and his brother worked with their father in his electrical business. After graduating from Columbia Union College in 1961, he was drafted into the Army and served for two years at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a nuclear power man. Upon completion of his military service, he began teaching math and physics in the New Jersey Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists at Waldwick Jr. Academy and later at Garden State Academy, where he also served in the role of Business Manager.

In 1974 he began his second career as a healthcare administrator in finance. He acted as VP for Finance at Hackettstown Community Hospital in Hackettstown, New Jersey; at Rocky Mountain Osteopathic Hospital in Denver, Colorado; at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois; and finally at Lakeview Community Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan.
During his lifetime he served on many boards and committees and always served in some volunteer capacity at his local Adventist church.

He loved playing golf, photography and working in the yard. During his retirement years he golfed almost daily at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course; and when he wasn’t on the golf course, he could be found in the yard or doing odd jobs around his home in Berrien Center. He passed away on February 25, 2022 after a multi-year battle with dementia.

Surviving him are his wife, Gayle B. Rowe; son, David R. Rowe (Judy), and daughter, Sharyl Turon (John); three grandchildren: Maya Turon (Anthony Miller) , Mariella and Natalia Rowe. Also surviving Ronald are his brother, Barry Rowe; and sisters, Shirley Copeman, Nancy Clapper, Barbara Gilroy and Marianne Feigley; and many nieces and nephews.
