Connie Lawrence

Connie Marie (Reynolds) Lawrence passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 76, with her beloved daughter Kelly by her side.

She was born April 2nd, 1949 in Wooster, Ohio where she graduated from Wooster High School in 1967. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for David Shafer Oil Producers for many years and was an active member of the Desk & Derrick organization. She later worked as an independent bookkeeper for many local businesses.

After six decades in Wooster, she retired and moved to Chicago, Illinois to be closer to her daughter. There, she built a new community of dear friends who quickly became like family. She later moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan with Kelly and her son-in-law Frank where she met a wonderful community of neighbors who became cherished friends. Connie loved spending time with friends, sitting on her porch, gardening, traveling, playing cards/games, walking at the local fitness center and antiquing with her daughter. Ever an animal lover, Connie's grand dogs provided endless entertainment and companionship, mirroring her nurturing and playful nature. She will be greatly missed by all and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, generosity and good humor.

Connie is survived by her daughter Kelly (Frank) Swanson, sisters Becky (Jay) Stout and Sandy (Fred) Mathis and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Helen (Eckstein).

No services have been planned at this time but there is a possibility of one in the future.

Memorial contributions can be made in Connie’s memory and honor to Trinity Health Kidney Transplant Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan or the Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Eternal gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at both organizations who provided tremendous care to Connie as she bravely faced health challenges.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
