Daniel Jaimes Cristancho Sr., 91, of Berrien Springs, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, in Berrien Springs.

Daniel was born on December 13, 1934, in Malaga to Octavio Cristancho and Purificacion (Jaimes) Cristancho, who preceded him in death.

On March 20, 1960, in Colombia, he married the love of his life, Jennie (Rojas) Cristancho, with whom he shared many devoted and faithful years of marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennie Cristancho; his children, by his children, Alberto Cristancho and Daniel Cristancho and his daughter in law, Okhee Kim, wife of Daniel Cristancho; his grandchildren, Shawn Cristancho and Pamela Cristancho; and his siblings, Judy Berroteran, Samuel Cristancho, Horacio Cristancho, Isabel DeAngel, Elena Pacheco, and Elsy Rojas.

Daniel faithfully served as a minister for many years and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he believed deeply in treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect. He found great joy in serving his church community in many capacities, often volunteering his time painting, landscaping, and helping wherever needed so he could remain active in the work he loved.

In his free time, Daniel enjoyed watching television, nature and animal documentaries, and movies. He especially cherished opportunities to help others and spend time with his church family. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit, servant’s heart, unwavering faith, and dedication to his family and community.

Daniel’s life was a testament to service, humility, and love for others, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
