David K. Peshka, MD, 97, of Niles, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at the Niles Westside Seventh-day Adventist Church, where friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, or to Hospice at Home. Online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com.
Dr. Peshka was born November 17, 1918, in Chicago, the son of Carl and Katerina (Lutz) Peshka. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the Army Air Corps. He moved to Niles and established a medical practice which served the community for over 50 years. He was an active member of the Niles Westside SDA Church where he had served in many positions.
Survivors include his wife, Elinor; two sons, Ken (Dana) of Grand Rapids and Dan (Debby) of Holland; two daughters, Deborah of Niles and Dawn (Erik) of Arcata, California; stepdaughter, Phyllis (Bill) Shupp of Edwardsburg; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tina, in 2006.
