Edward Ross Hicks Jr.

Edward R. Hicks Jr. passed away September 6, 2026 at home.

Edward was born October 19, 1941 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Edward Hicks Sr. and Marie (Laruss) Hicks and was a lifelong resident. On January 13, 1962, he married Donna Preston in Benton Harbor.

Edward was an assistant fire chief for Sodus Township from 1963-1968. He also owned Sodus DX and was a machine shop worker. He enjoyed farming and family get-togethers.

Survivors include his son Ross (Jennifer) Hicks, three grandchildren Brittany (Paul) Wiley, Julian Hicks and Skylar (Tyler) Pullins. Great-grandchildren Nadia Chandler, Olivia Wiley and Adelyn Pullins. Step-great-grandchildren Griffin and Payton Wiley.

A brother Joseph (Paulette) Hicks and sisters Anita Hicks, Donna (Dick) Donnellan, Nancy Lambrecht, Mary (Mike) Anderson, and Cathy Rozema. Sister-in-law Mary Spoonholtz and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, and brothers James and John Hicks and brother-in-law Lloyd Spoonholtz and mother and father-in-law Alice & Cecil Preston.

Graveside services for Edward will be held at 11:30am on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus, Michigan.
