Elizabeth Ruth Renhack

January 28, 1957 — November 28, 2025

Benton Harbor

Elizabeth Ruth Renhack, a lifelong resident of Benton Harbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on November 28, 2025. Born on January 28, 1957, in the same warm community she would later fill with love and laughter, Elizabeth - known affectionately as "Beth" to her friends - wove a tapestry of kindness throughout her lifetime.

Her early years in Benton Harbor were the foundation upon which she built a life of service and family devotion. A proud graduate of Benton Harbor High School, Beth carried the values of hard work and dedication into her professional life. For many years, she worked tirelessly as a medical transcriptionist at Corewell Hospitals, where her keen attention to detail and comforting presence were known to all her colleagues and the many healthcare professionals she supported.

Beth's nurturing nature extended far beyond the walls of her workplace; she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her children, Samantha (Christopher) Disterheft, Roland Renhack, and Joseph (Carrie) Renhack, who will carry forward the luminous warmth of her spirit. Her six grandchildren; Jasmine, Alexis, Caitlyn, Aubree, Ellie, and Joey Jr., whom she adored beyond measure, will miss their grandmother's gentle embrace and the twinkle in her eye whenever she was with them. She is also survived by her special dear friend Kathy Truelove.

In her personal life, Beth found joy and solace in her many hobbies. She was an avid creator of diamond paintings, often gifting her beautiful creations to friends and family. Coloring and puzzle games were among her favorite pastimes, reflecting her love for intricate design and challenge. She had the rare gift of turning simple moments into treasured memories, especially when involving her beloved grandkids.

She was the heartbeat of every gathering, a loving, kind, and friendly presence that illuminated the lives of those around her. Her laughter was contagious, her counsel wise, and within her circle, she was both a cherished anchor and a beacon of joy.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart Gene Sr. and Betty Louise (Anderson) McLaughlin; her husband, Michael Murray Renhack; and her brother, Roger McLaughlin. The loss of these beloved family members never diminished the richness of her generosity and love, as she sought to embody the best of those who left too soon.
