In the loving memory of the sweet, spirited child of God, Ellsy Lupe Marley, we gather our hearts in celebration of her life, a testament to the love and light she brought into this world. Born on the 15th of June, 2017, in the peaceful town of Niles, Michigan, Ellsy was a beacon of joy from her very first breath. Her journey on this earthly plane came to a serene close on the 29th of November, 2023, in the gentle embrace of Stevensville, Michigan, where she was surrounded by the love of her devoted family.
Ellsy was the cherished daughter of Pastor Lucas Marley, and the late Delilah (Gora) Marley, who preceded her in passing. She was the beloved baby sister to Flossy, Loissy, and Elldon, and her 3 cats, Rice, Turkey and Tuna who revealed they had guidance and wisdom beyond her years. Despite her tender age, Ellsy's soul shone with the maturity and grace of the ages.
She graced the halls of Village SDA Elementary School, where she graduated from kindergarten with the admiration of her teachers and peers. Ellsy's vibrant spirit shone through every facet of her life. She was a social butterfly, flitting from friend to friend, leaving a trail of laughter and love in her wake. Meticulous in her ways, she ensured that everything was just so, a reflection of the divine order she held dear.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Ellsy revealed in the fellowship of her church family, lifting her voice in songs of praise that touched the hearts of all who heard her. "Give Thanks," "Mighty To Save," and her personal favorite, "Jesus Loves Me," were more than just melodies; they were the expressions of her unwavering belief in the love of her Savior.
A true Disney Princess at heart, Ellsy's adoration for Elsa was a mirror to her own inner strength and grace. She was a leader in her own right, often guiding her siblings with a gentle hand and a firm resolve. Her passion for living in the light of Jesus was evident in her unceasing efforts to uplift those around her, making friends everywhere she went and connecting with others in ways that left indelible marks on their hearts.
Her love for snuggly blankets and Squishmallows was a testament to her tender heart, always seeking comfort and providing the same to others with her warm embraces and kind words. Ellsy was the embodiment of love, faith-filled and selfless—a child who put others above herself in every thought and deed.
As we bid farewell to this precious child of God, let us remember the words of Matthew 19:14, "But Jesus said, 'Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'" Indeed, Ellsy is now cradled in the arms of her Lord, where she continues to radiate the love and joy she so freely gave during her time with us.
In her short time on earth, Ellsy Lupe Marley was a living example of what it means to walk in faith and love. Her legacy is one of kindness, of a life lived for others, and of the pure, unselfish love that reflects the heart of Jesus. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is now singing with the angels, her voice a sweet, eternal melody of praise.
A heartfelt thank you to the Otio, Hizoke, Marimba and Park families as well as the PNG community that came and went between the years of 2017 - 2023, as well as Living Word Fellowship, Village Adventist Church and Village Adventist Elementary School both students and staff. A special thankyou to her mentors Pr Paul and Linda Paladini, for the love, support, and care they provided to Ellsy.
Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact of her life. Ellsy's spirit remains with us, a gentle reminder to live with compassion, to love without bounds, and to always extend a hand of friendship. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may her story continue to inspire us to live with the same fervor and devotion that she exemplified every day.
