Janelle Marie Smith, 40, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, in Niles, Michigan.

Janelle was born on November 11, 1985 in Niles, Michigan to Allen Will and Theresa (Petersen) Odle.

Left to cherish the memory of Janelle is her husband, Tony Smith; children, Alexis Will, Maddielynn Will, Hayden Brackett, and Jasmine Smith; granddaughter, Bellamae Smith; siblings, Jacob (Elsie) Will and Josh Will; father, Allen Will, and mother, Theresa (Kevin) Odle.

Janelle lived a life centered on faith, service, and the people she loved. She proudly served her country in the United States Army, including a deployment to Iraq. Her time in the military reflected the strength, courage, and commitment that she carried with her throughout her life.

Outside of her service, Janelle enjoyed making memories with those closest to her. She loved to travel and was always looking forward to her next adventure, whether it was a weekend getaway or a longer trip. She also enjoyed spending time around the table playing board games and cards, where laughter and friendly competition were always part of the fun.

The greatest joy in Janelle's life was her faith. She had a deep love for the Lord, and her church family held a special place in her heart. She found peace, purpose, and lasting friendships through her church.

Janelle will be remembered for her caring heart, her quiet strength, and the love she had for her family, friends, and church community. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Janelle will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a Funeral Service to be held at 12:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St. Niles, Michigan 49120.
