Jason Dale Braaksma

Jason Dale Braaksma, born on February 25, 1980, in Berrien Center, Michigan, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Eau Claire, Michigan, leaving behind a life remembered for hard work, quiet kindness, and a deep love for the things and people that mattered most to him.

Jason lived his life with a steady spirit and a practical hand. He was a self-employed businessman who worked as a farmer, electrician, and mechanic, and he took pride in being able to solve problems, repair what was broken, and keep moving forward no matter the task before him. He was known as a man who was loving, analytical, and handy, and those qualities were reflected in the way he approached both his work and his relationships. Jason had a gift for understanding how things worked, and he used that gift to build a life centered on usefulness, perseverance, and honest effort.

He especially loved cars and enjoyed working on them, fixing them up, and bringing them back to life. Whether he was under the hood, in the field, or handling an electrical job, Jason found satisfaction in doing work that required skill and patience. He was often shy at first, but when a subject came up that interested him, he became very talkative and engaged. Those who knew him well appreciated that side of him, because it revealed his enthusiasm, his knowledge, and the warmth that came through once he felt comfortable. His conversations often reflected the depth of his interests and the sincerity of his personality.

Jason lived his life like a Christian, he lived with a sense of responsibility and humility, and he met life’s challenges with determination and quiet strength. His presence was one that could be counted on, and his work ethic and character left a lasting impression on those around him.

He is survived by his sister, Amber Braaksma, and his nephews and niece, Kasey Price, Blaine Frank, and Alaina Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karen Lee (Koester) Skibbe and Richard Braaksma. Jason’s family and loved ones will remember him for the care he showed, the work he accomplished, and the genuine way he lived his life. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, especially in the stories shared, the lessons learned, and the many ways he made life better through his hands, his mind, and his heart.

Jason will be remembered as a man who was devoted to his work, loyal to his family, and true to himself. His life was one of steady purpose, and though he is gone, the impact of his presence will continue to be felt by those who loved him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowerman Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Eau Claire, Michigan. A memorial service may be planned for a later date.
