Jennifer J Myers

August 4, 1976 — May 20, 2025

St. Joseph

Jennifer Jean Myers, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and friend, went to her rest on May 20, 2025, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan. Born on August 4, 1976, in Niles, Michigan, Jennifer's life was a testament to the power of love and compassion.

Jennie was born to Jonathan Myers and Sue Myers (now Collier). She was raised in Berrien Springs with lots of help from her paternal grandparents KB and Dick Myers, and her maternal grandmother, Peg Eppley and step grandfather, Don Eppley, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended the Village SDA Elementary school, Ruth Murdock elementary school and graduated from Berrien Springs High School. She leaves behind her cherished children: Ashley Myers of Kalamazoo, David Asher of Hagar Shores and Cody (Heidi) Koern of Chicago. Her life was further enriched by the addition of Ashley's three children, Ava, Jayden and Josiah. Jennifer's greatest joy was her family, and she enjoyed having family gatherings in her home, creating lasting memories. It is hard to pick out only one thing that was especially memorable. Ava, Jayden and Jojo just loved being with Grandma Jennie.

Jennifer's passions extended to her adoration for music and her beloved pets, especially her last black kitty friend Buddy, her kindred spirit, who brought her immense comfort. He was a good cuddler:) As for music, just ask Jen Peterson or Jennie's companion and significant other Stephen Blay! Beatles and Def Leppard decorated her walls. She was SO excited to attend two Def Leppard concerts, one in 2003 and one in 2016. She and Jen also had fun with karaoke. She loved all kinds of music ...from 80's hair bands to country, to the music of her father, a musician in his own right.

Jennie held a variety of jobs, including caregiving and Elder Beerman's shoe department where she worked from 2001 to 2011. She enjoyed being a companion to her clients, who reminded her of her grandmothers. In the shoe department, she saw many of her grandmother's friends who (the younger ones) to this day comment on her interaction with them there. It was also there that she met and worked with Stephen Blay with whom she shared many subsequent years.

Her legacy of love will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her. Jennifer's life was a beautiful melody, composed of kindness, love, and irreplaceable memories. Besides her grandparents, she was predeceased by her cousin, Tracy Lynn Brown, uncle Jeffrey Brown and stepfather, Eldon Collier. Survivors include her parents, children and grandchildren as previously listed, Stephen Blay, John Peterson (David's dad), Curtis Koern (Cody's dad), the Myers family consisting of aunts, uncles and cousins across the country, aunts, uncles and cousins on her mother's side, as well as the Collier family members. She is also fondly remembered by Jan Carrington, Jan's son Jeff Hettinger (Ashley's father) and family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Allred Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28 with visitation from. 11AM to 1PM followed by memorial service at 1PM. Memorials may be made to Hospice.
