Lawrence J. Kamvazaana

March 7, 1947 — December 25, 2020

Pastor Lawrence Kamvazaana passed away peacefully in his sleep Christmas morning in Berrien Springs at the age of 73. He was and will always be greatly loved by countless friends and family.

Lawrence is survived by his four children: Msama--Kalamazoo, Mika--Berrien Springs, Chikondi & Mnyisei--Houston, Texas.

Lawrence was born March 7, 1947 in Mwanza, Malawi to Jackson and Mnyisei. He graduated from Solusi University in Zimbabwe with a degree in Theology. After immigrating to the United States, he received a Masters in Divinity from Andrews University. For many years he worked as a chaplain, pastoring churches, a published author & spread the Adventist health message in hopes of constructing a sanitarium in Berrien Springs under the vision of Ellen White.

Lawrence was known for his wisdom, charisma, and was on fire for the advancement of the Gospel message and the soon return of Jesus Christ. He was a generous, witty, and devout individual who loved the Lord and who was passionate about educating God’s children about his son Jesus and his kingdom. He was an active and dedicated member of the Village Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Berrien Springs.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Village SDA church in Berrien Springs; a reception is to follow after the service. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. Pastor Ron Kelly and Pastor Santos will officiate the ceremony and burial service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pastor Lawrence’s life. A livestream feed will be available on YouTube and can be found at youtube.com/chikondiman
