A Time of Remembrance for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 12, from 3 – 5 p.m. at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs. Graveside services with military rites will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs.

Bud was born on June 26, 1948, in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of Kenneth J. and L. Ramona Allred, and the first 20 years of his life were spent in Southwestern Michigan. In March of 1968 he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam as a field medic. He was awarded several medals, including the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars.

Following his military discharge, he resided in Buffalo, New York, where he was employed by Nouryon Chemical. He also managed a NAPA store, and was a sales rep for McKesson. He met his wife Marcy in Buffalo, and they were married in 1973.

Bud was an avid bowler through his middle-age years. Cars were his passion and the 1955 Ford pickup was his dream car. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races anytime he could, and he loved all Michigan sports. He spent his later years with his dog Jake by his side, and he was so proud of the Koi pond that he created and maintained.

Bud was a huge giver, and he was always willing to help those who needed it. He was a true family man who loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his wife, Marcy Allred; daughter, Tawnya Powers; son, Todd (Lindsay) Allred and their children Keegan and Shaylee; grandson, Cody (Megan) Stevenson and their son Colten; granddaughter, Crysta Moats; brother, Jim (Karen) Allred; sister, Carol (Stephen) Fox; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
