Marlene Mast

August 19, 1942 — May 18, 2025

Berrien Springs

With profound love and respect, we honor the memory of Marlene (Moon) Mast, a beacon of kindness and generosity to all who knew her. Born on August 19, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana, Marlene graced this world with her presence for nearly 83 years before peacefully passing away in Saint Joseph, Michigan, on May 18, 2025.

Marlene's life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to both her family and her work. For five decades, she served loyally at Peoples State Bank and Fifth Third Bank, where her colleagues became a second family. Outside the bank, Marlene was known for her love of shopping, her eagerness to lend a helping hand, and her exceptional baking skills, which brought joy to many. She will be missed especially her delicious cookies that everyone looked forward to at Christmas time.

Her kindness was boundless, and she cherished being around others, always ensuring that those in her circle felt loved and supported. Marlene's loving nature, kindness, and generosity were the touchstones of her being, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met. She was a proud member of Berrien Springs High School class of 1960 where her and her sister were the drum majorettes in the band. Served in the Berrien County Sherrif's Posse with her horse and worked in the concession stand at the Berrien County Youth Fair.

Marlene's spirit will be treasured and carried on by her twin sister, Charlene (Moon) Cundiff; her niece, Cami (Cundiff) Coleman; her step-children Melissa (Kenney) Mast Travis, and Scott (Michelle) Mast, her step-grandchildren, Samantha (Jayson), Ryan, Nathan, Braxton, Katie, Jesse (Morgan) and Shelby; and her step-great-grandchildren, Archer, Maverick, and Olivia. She is also survived by her great nephews Andrew (Lyndsey) Coleman and Bradley (Melissa) Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Moon and Eleanor (Wilson) Moon Kephart. Also preceding is her stepfather George Kephart and her brother-in-law Ted Cundiff. Marlene (Moon) Mast's legacy of love will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched.
