Mildred Erma Perkins

Mildred E. Perkins, 92, of Berrien Springs, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, at Berrien Center Bible Church, with burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, and leave online messages at www.allredfuneralhome.com. Memorial donations may be made to Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.

Mildred was born April 3, 1926, in Jamestown, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Zwier) Mekkes. She complete three years of college and worked as a secretary for the carpenters union. Her leisure enjoyments included painting and animals. Mildred was a lady devoted to her Lord.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat McDowell and Lisa Jager; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ken Mekkes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick A. Perkins; and a sister, Lois.
