Patricia Ann Hansen left this earth to be with the Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021, with family at her bedside. She was 83 years old.
“Patsy” was born to Chester and Helen (Yagman) Long, in Benton Harbor on August 22, 1938. She had two sisters, Jaquelin (Long) Nice, and June (Long) Vanko. She grew up in the Berrien County area and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. During her high school years, she was a baton twirler, avid swimmer, and diver.
Patricia was a fixture for many years in Berrien Springs, and a longtime member of the American Legion Post 85. She was known for her love of sewing, crocheting, and macramé. She also loved cooking, baking, and gardening. Traveling was one of her favorite past times. She had explored many places in her life, spanning from Washington to Maine, California for gold panning, Florida, Texas, Tennessee and many places in between, even the Bahamas.
Patricia graduated high school and began to work for Rudy’s/Sunstrand/National Copper, where she worked until retirement. She always found time to be active in her hobbies, which grew to include her love for music and supporting the love of her life, Craig “Michaels” Steffanides, in his music career. Patricia was well loved by her family and will be dearly missed. She was a kind and loving soul, generous and hard working. She had a great sense of humor. Her soul was enduring, brave and courageous no matter what obstacles she met in life. Patricia always remained optimistic with a positive outlook on life, always seeing the good in everyone and every situation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester (1978) and Helen (Yagmen)
Long (2012); her beloved husband, Christ Hansen (1998); Sherry (Hansen) Haines (2013); Colleen (Hansen) Haulcomb (2021); and her love, Craig Steffanides (2021).
