Phillip Strayer Stroud, 82, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home in Berrien Springs.

Phillip was born May 28, 1939, in Buchanan, the son of Charles M. and Alma L. (McLaughlin) Stroud. He worked in construction as a drywall subcontractor and roofer. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and he loved to cook. He had a special interest in tractors, and he loved watching western movies. Phillip was the best story teller, and he was very humorous. And he especially loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by four daughters: Tracey (Craig) Worvey, Tina (Ray Crump) Lutz, Darcie (Blaine) Cronn, and Lisa Dawn Stroud; his former wife, Christine Slater Conte; brother, Richard Stroud; sisters: Mary Hesch, Marjorie Seccareccio, Lana Heimbuch; nine grandchildren: Leah Gauthier, Blake Paturalski, Karlie Brown, Zachary Lutz, Griffon Lutz, Blaine Cronn, Bailey Monson, August Garritano, Noah Emerick; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He cherished his friendship with Archie.
Phillip is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Stroud and Lloyd Stroud; and his sister, Millie Fox.
