Ronald Eskew, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and servant of faith, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, at the age of 81. Born on July 29, 1944, in Linton, Indiana, Ronald's life was a testament to his loving, intelligent, and generous spirit.
Ronald's early years were spent in Linton surrounded by family: his grandmother, Bella (McGhee) Keller, parents, George and Martha (Keller) Eskew and siblings Robert and Linda Lou Eskew, who all preceded him in death. His formative years in Linton laid the foundation for a life characterized by service, creativity, and a deep commitment to his Christian faith.
After faithfully serving in the Army National Guard, Ronald found his professional calling as a dental technician, a role he dedicated himself to for the majority of his life. His skilled hands and keen eye for detail were not only evident in his work but also in his artistic pursuits. Ronald was a talented painter and model car enthusiast, bringing beauty and precision to everything he touched.
Ronald's passion for motorsports and his faith intersected in his role as a chaplain for the United States Auto Club races. He was known for starting the races with heartfelt prayers, offering comfort and protection for the drivers and their families. It was this same spirit of guidance and support that led him to teach Sunday School for the 5th-6th grade age group and help plant two small churches. His written works, which he self-published, were another avenue through which he shared his wisdom and love for God.
The year 1975 marked a significant milestone in Ronald's life when he met his beloved wife, Marilyn J. (Platte) Eskew, through Campus Crusade for Christ. Their partnership was one of mutual respect, love, and shared devotion to their faith. Together, they raised two children, Sarah (Arron) Bauer and Jeremiah (Sharalyn Moore) Eskew, who brought them much joy and pride. Ronald's legacy continues through his five cherished grandchildren (Zachary, Alexander, Caden and Ioan Bauer and Jameson Eskew) and four cherished step-grandchildren (Jaron, Julia and Jonah Church and Roman Moore), who will carry forward the lessons of kindness and compassion he instilled in them.
Ronald's life was a reflection of his servant's heart, whether he was under the hood of a car, crafting a dental prosthesis, or sharing the gospel. His intelligence shone through in his thoughtful conversations and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Generosity was his hallmark, always willing to give of his time, talents, and resources to those in need.
As we remember Ronald, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of purpose, love and faithfulness. His impact on his family, friends, and community will be felt for generations to come. Ronald Eskew's journey on earth may have concluded, but his spirit and the values he embodied will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
